openAIP data is not certified and must not be used for primary navigation or flight
planning. Never rely on openAIP data. It contains errors. The pilot is responsible for all flight decisions,
and the exported file inherits every error of its source. See
openAIP's
warranty and liability terms.
What Cubio does to the data. Boundaries are simplified at import to 100 m (Douglas-Peucker), so a
line here can sit up to 100 m from openAIP's. A record openAIP holds twice, re-published under a designator
prefix, is collapsed to the newer one at import. Names that arrived with broken encoding are repaired. A CTA with no frequency
takes the frequency of the sector it lies in, marked "from …" in the detail. The export carries only what
the map shows: the circle round the pin, the type chips that are on, the floor cap, the search, and the
frequency and squawk appended to names when that toggle is on. The frequency is written into the
exported file’s own frequency field regardless of that toggle, so a reader that knows about the
field — Cubio’s uploader does — finds it without the name being changed. The toggle exists
for devices that display nothing but the name.
NOTAM data. Current NOTAMs are fetched from Autorouter by Cubio's NOTAM explorer, one FIR at a time,
and matched to AIP airspace by the designator in the text (END163 → EN-D163). An airspace with a NOTAM
against it lists the NOTAM in its detail. A restriction or warning NOTAM with a shape of its own and no AIP
airspace, a temporary danger area for instance, is shown as airspace of type NOTAM and goes into the export
with the rest. These are Cubio's reading of free text, only as current as the explorer's last refresh, and
they carry the NOTAM's validity but the export does not: a file exported today is right today. Nothing on
this page replaces the AIP or an official briefing.
